The 'Panther' was a German medium tank from World War II, developed by MAN in 1941-1942 as the main tank for the Wehrmacht. It was armed with a smaller caliber gun than the Tiger and was classified as a medium tank in German classification. However, it was considered a heavy tank in Soviet and Allied classifications, known as T-5 or T-V. Its combat debut was at the Battle of Kursk, and it was widely used by the Wehrmacht and SS on various European fronts.
