Antique 15ct Gold Tie Lapel Cravat Stock Pin c1880 High Quality

It is so nice to see that brooches are increasing in popularity as they are one of the most versatile pieces of jewellery you could have. Nowadays they are used to adorn both men's and women's outfits - see Tulsa King for men wearing brooches. A stock pin like this could be worn on so many pieces of clothing as a tie pin, lapel pin, hat pin, hair pin or even as a really scary piece of body piercing. ABOUT THIS BROOCH Constructed from solid 15ct gold (625 parts per 1000) Old style UK maker assayed and fully x-ray tested. Superb design of a detailed head with a rope twist design Dates to latter 19th Century (c1880s) Fastens with a gold twist pin all in good order. Condition is excellent, especially considering its age. Length is 69.5mm. Width is 10.4mm across the setting. It sits 6.6 mm proud. Weight is under 3 grams (I don't sell quality like this by weight anyways) You would expect to pay between £600 and £1,000 for a brooch / pin like this at a fancy antique shop, depending on your ability to hunt down a bargain. CONDITION REPORT Many of my brooches are VERY old and have some signs of this. I ensure they are fully operational and can be worn from arrival but I do not like polishing them to "as new" because I feel this detracts from their history. I will consider doing so, for a small fee, if you ask nicely ;-) I guarantee all items to be as described and will accept a return on anything you are not happy with.
