Introduced in 1960, the M60, often mislabeled as a Patton, was an enhanced version of the M48, featuring a 105mm main gun, straight front slope, and other improvements. It was the last U.S. tank to use homogenous steel and a driver's floor escape hatch. Between 1986 and 2002, Egypt acquired M60A3 and other variants, totaling 1,016 M60A3 and 700 M60A1RISE. Currently, Egypt operates the most M60A3s.
