The Otter, a light armored car, was manufactured by General Motors Canada during World War II for British and Commonwealth forces. Based on the Chevrolet C15 truck chassis, it utilized many standard GM components. Its armament included a hull-mounted Boys anti-tank rifle and a Bren light machine gun in a small, open-topped turret. Produced between 1942 and 1945 in Oshawa, Ontario, a total of 1761 units were made. The Otter served with Canadian units in the Italian Campaign and Northwest Europe. It was also used by Polish, Czechoslovakian, South African, and British RAF Regiment units.
