With an LED light instead of an open flame and no wires, these candles can be safely used around curious children, rambunctious pets, curtains, plants, wooden surfaces, books, and anything else flammable. The timer function can be set with the switch on the base. Switch the candle to the timer function. The light will flash three times. The candle will automatically shut off 5 hours later, then turn itself back on 19 hours later.
