After visiting Bali several times on vacation, she decided to move there in 2004. Born in Tokyo, she lived in Vietnam where she worked in an interior dcor shop. There she was introduced to furniture and handicrafts from different places such as Africa, Indonesia and Thailand. Tomomi majored in art and design. Now, together with a friend, she designs and creates leather and cow bone accessories, as well as cotton apparel.
