The Mountain Goat Series rear tailgate to spare tire bump stop extensions are a necessary upgrade on any JP JK Wrangler that is mounting an oversize spare tire to the rear tailgate. Mounting an oversize spare tire to the stock spare tire carrier presents a problem as different tire sizes and wheel offsets space the tire away from the factory rubber bump stops mounted on the tailgate. Not having a tight fitting tailgate to spare tire bumper will cause annoying rattles and add additional stress to the rear tailgate. The Mountain Goat Series rear tailgate to spare tire bump stop extensions are constructed of 75A durometer Neoprene spring rubber tubing. They slide inside of the factory rubber bump stops mounted on the tailgate and are then trimmed to the required length. We ship them longer than they need to be so you can trim them for a precise fit with your wheel offset and tire size. Their massive 1/2" wall thickness makes them very stiff so you can tighten the spare tire down against them without any deformation for a very tight and secure connection. Unlike other tailgate bump stop extensions on the market, these will work fine if you are not mounting your spare tire directly to the factory spare tire carrier because you need to use a spare tire relocation mount.
