ROSELLA PAXTON Navajo Sterling & Moody Blue Hubei Turquoise Butterfly Pendant

This sterling silver pendant by Navajo artist Rosella Paxton is a striking, sculptural interpretation of a butterfly. The wings are formed by four moody blue Hubei turquoise stones, each bezel set to create movement and contrast. The upper wings display brighter turquoise-blue tones framed with fine twist wire borders, while the lower wings shift to deep midnight blue stones accented with dotted bezels. The butterfly body and wings are further adorned with starshots, stamped raindrops, and smooth raindrops, adding texture and visual rhythm throughout. The eyes appear to be bezel set Kingman turquoise, lending a lively focal detail. The bail is heavily decorated with stampings and a stamped raindrop accent. It comfortably accommodates beads up to 16 millimeters. Stamped RP STERLING on the back, this pendant is a bold and beautifully executed contemporary Navajo piece.
