The Soviet T-34, renowned as the world's most produced and iconic tank, was engineered at Kharkov's Design Bureau 183 under M.I. Koshkin's leadership. Its mass production began in 1940, boasting anti-projectile armor, a robust diesel engine, and a 76.2mm long-barreled gun. It dominated as the world's top tank until late 1941. A 1942 upgrade introduced an improved hexagonal cast turret, dubbed the 'nut'. The T-34 with a 76.2mm F-34 gun served as the primary Soviet medium tank until 1944, when it was superseded by the T-34-85. Six plants produced 35,467 T-34/76 tanks between 1940 and 1944. Models are delivered unpainted and may need assembly.
