As composting progresses, worms naturally migrate upward to new food sources, leaving finished castings behind. This continuous process makes composting simple, clean, and efficient. Under ideal conditions, 2 lbs of composting worms can process approximately 1 lb of food waste per day. A 5-tray VermiHut Plus system can support up to 10 lbs of worms, helping reduce up to 5 lbs of household food waste daily, making it well-suited for family use.
