No tears, losses or repairs to the image. The frame shows chips, surface wear, marks and scuffs throughout, with areas of lifting and cracking to the moulding suggesting historic repainting or later surface treatment. Light marks to the interior of the glass. Reverse shows heavy age-related wear to original backing materials. Aged hanging wire present. Note: Easel shown in photos is not included. Stored for many years and left unrestored. ★ Details & Features Authentic 19th-century British topographical landscape print titled “Crowhurst, Sussex”, depicting a rural countryside scene with livestock, trees, cottages and a winding track beneath an atmospheric sky. Reflects the Victorian interest in pastoral English landscapes and decorative domestic prints. Produced as a steel engraving or early photogravure, using fine linear detail and tonal gradation to convey depth and atmosphere rather than colour. Prints of this type were widely produced for interior display during the mid to late Victorian period. Presented in a substantial period wooden frame with gilt slip, retaining its original backboard and trade label for T. T. Davis, Picture Dealer & Gilder, 73 Anlaby Road, Hull (est. 1876), consistent with late Victorian to early Edwardian framing practices. A genuine antique print, not a modern reproduction, valued for age, subject matter and period presentation rather than named artist attribution. Suitable for traditional interiors, studies, hallways or heritage-inspired spaces.
