From the top of the pole to the bottom of the fringe it is more than 3". I found 2 other pins like this while researching it. They were $90 and $75.
I was tempted to clean the metal because it could be brightened, but that choice on this piece should be left up to the buyer. In any case this is a wonderful example of early history. The flag used to be sacred. Letting it touch the floor was upsetting. Now people are making costumes out of flag material and hanging it upside down. If the flag and our democracy means something to you, then this would mean something to you, too.
