1960’s Pauline Trigère turtle brooch. Really awesome piece. It’s encrusted with milk glass and red crystals set in rhodium-plated metal. All stones present. Signed Trigère on the belly. About 2.6” head to tail. It’s in excellent condition!
The brooch is designed to resemble a Box Turtle and is actually is about the same size as a baby box turtle. It also has a nice solid weight.
Pauline Trigère, a Franco-American couturière, was known for her popular styles in the 1950s and 1960s, and the turtle was one of her favorite symbols, so much so that she named her country estate "La Tortue".
